What a year? What a year it has been for Nigerians,
home or abroad? First, we won the U 17 World cup and to top it off last week
Samuel Peters defended his belt with a unanimous decision after been knocked
down, not once, not twice, but three times. That, I believe is story worth
been told to future generations about a young man who stood straight against
all odds and triumphed.
As
the Eagles prepare for their friendly match against Mexico this Sunday, I
hope they can burrow a leaf from Samuel Peters, play hard till the finish
and never ever concede. We are from Nigeria, the giant of Africa; let us keep
this ball rolling by competing in every sport we are engaged in, with this
kind of intensity and focus that this young man has shown. Congratulations
